The Task
Disney licensed Digimask for an online "widget" for "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," where users could upload a photo and download a widget that allowed them to "piratize" themselves (by adding beards, scars etc.)
The Solution
Working with Emmy-winning broadcast design/ new technology producers Hunter/Sauleda and Atlanta-based MediaMacros for programming and execution, Digimask provided full tech support to streamline Digimask's integration into the Macromedia Director platform, which served as the player for this versatile widget.
Deliverables
A Mac/PC compatible widget that allowed consumers to first "Piratize" themselves in dozens of animating combinations, then to output animated assets, i.e. email buddy signatures and AIM Buddy icons, along with Snapshots, Screensavers, and Wallpaper.
Outcome
The Digimask "Piratizer" received rave reviews when it launched on MySpace, and resulted in more than 100,000 conversions in the first two weeks.
